Sealed proposals for the “Fire Station Parking Lot Improvements” will be received by the Lucas County Board of Commissioners at One Government Center, Suite 800, Toledo, Ohio 43604 until 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at said office opened and read aloud.

Specifications and bid forms may be secured at City Blueprint, 2010 Madison Avenue, Toledo, Ohio between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for a $20.00 non-refundable fee. Visa, Mastercard, Cash or company check accepted.  Please order fax order request to 419-243-6418.  This project is funded by the Federal FY10 CDBG Formula Program.  Estimated cost of construction: $44,500 for the base bid. For the alternate is $52,700.

Each bid must be accompanied by either a bid bond in an amount of 100% of the bid amount with a surety satisfactory to the Lucas County Board of Commissioners or by certified check, cashiers check, or letter of credit upon a solvent bank in the amount of not less than 10% of the bid amount in favor of the Lucas County Board of Commissioners.  Bid Bonds shall be accompanied by Proof of Authority of the official or agent signing the bond.

Bids for the above-described work must be made on blanks furnished by Lucas County. Bids shall be sealed and marked as Bid for “Fire Station Parking Lot Improvements, Providence Township” and mailed or delivered to the Lucas County Commissioners office at the address above. Bids must be stamped with time and date received.   Bids received after the scheduled bid opening date and time or not accompanied by the required bid bond/check and required affidavits will not be considered.

Attention of bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in this bid packet, particularly to the Federal Labor Standards Provisions and Davis-Bacon Wages, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, and the requirement for a payment bond and performance bond for 100% of the contract price.  No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the actual date of the opening thereof.  Lucas County reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids, or accept any bid for both labor and material for such improvements without disclosure of reason and to determine the lowest and best bidder in the aggregate.
