Cooking Demonstrations

Cooking demonstrations provide a fun, new way to learn and create healthy meals.  Health coaches will demonstrate quick, easy meals that are nutritious and budget friendly!  Employees will be able to interact and create conversation about food with the health coaches and other employees.  Also, there will be recipes and handouts for employees to take home and try on their own!

If you are interested in learning more about the cooking demonstrations, please contact the Health Coaches at 419-213-2088 or .

The health coaches have begun to implement a new initiative called bookSWAP. Employees are able to check out books, magazines and published journal articles about nutrition, fitness, and an overall healthy lifestyle. This new program allows employees to gain information about the latest health topics, and hopefully create a discussion with other employees on the topics they are reading. BookSWAP is located in the Employee Benefits/Wellness Office in One Government Center, Suite 440.

If you have any questions or interested in checking out a book, magazine or journal article, stop by Suite 440 or contact the Health Coaches at 419-213-2088 or .

Metroparks Scavenger Hunt

This year the Health Coaches wanted to add a little adventure into the Walking Program by introducing the Metroparks Scavenger Hunt! A new and fun way to explore nature while getting your walk on.  With 11 parks in all, the Metroparks in the Toledo area have plenty to explore. Each location offering something special. A few great attractions within the Toledo area Metroparks are the Manor House with a beautiful garden located next to the building (Wildwood), historical Works Progress Administration buildings and bridges (Pearson), the Historic Canal Locks (Side Cut), access to the beautiful Towpath Trail (Farnsworth), and the overlook of Providence Dam (Providence).  This spring and summer discover the beauty of the Toledo area and set off on an adventure!

To learn more about the Metroparks Scavenger Hunt or the Walking Program, contact the Health Coaches at 419-213-2088 or hcoach@co.lucas.oh.us.
