Urban Gardening
The Lucas County Land Bank is excited to partner with residents, community groups, co-ops, and institutions to provide land for use as a community or urban garden.

Urban gardening is a valuable opportunity for any neighborhood, providing fresh produce to neighbors for their personal enjoyment and stabilizing vacant lots to prevent unsightly weeds, trash, and debris.

To license or acquire a vacant lot for urban gardening purposes, individuals are encouraged to fill out and return an application for vacant lot.  A representative of the Land Bank will be in contact with you very soon to discuss purchase or licensing options for this land.

Other Opportunities
The Land Bank's Side Lot program is another great way for a resident to acquire a vacant lot next to their residence and use it for urban gardening.  Visit our Side Lot Program page for more information about how to acquire a side lot.

The Land Bank is also willing to discuss larger scale land assembly opportunities for urban agriculture and farming.  Contact the Land Bank today to learn more!
