School-Wide Recycling Rally

The recycling rally is a school assembly to explain how teachers, staff, and students can participate in the paper recycling program.

Goals of the Rally

The goals of a school-wide recycling effort include:

• Educating students about the environmental benefits of recycling
• Encouraging students to get their family involved in recycling at home
• Establishing environmental stewardship among students

Overall Mission

Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful and the Lucas County Solid Waste Management District worked with school officials and students to set up the pilot program. Each classroom is equipped with a recycling bin where paper is collected and taken to an outside storage bin on the school grounds.
