Important Notice Regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Impact 

The Treasurer's Office is open to the public. However, the Treasurer's Office strongly encourages people to help protect themselves and the community by considering our "no contact" payment options: 

  1. By mail (using the return envelope enclosed with your bill).
  2. Drop Box (NW corner of Erie & Jackson Streets).
  3. At a participating bank (during January and July). View bank location and phone numbers flyer (PDF)

Tax Due Dates

Effective in calendar year 2020, the semiannual real estate tax due dates became the last day in January (first half) and the last day in July (second half).

Tax year 2022 (payable in 2023) due dates:

  • First half - January 31, 2023
  • Second half - July 31, 2023

Mailed payments must be postmarked on or before the due date to avoid a late penalty. Online/Phone payments made after 8:00 P.M. will be processed on the next business day. 


Overview

The Lucas County Treasurer is the guardian of the taxpayers’ money and is responsible for the accurate accounting and proper handling of over $625 million each year.

The Lucas County Treasurer serves as the chief investment officer in charge of managing an average daily portfolio of $275 million to $385 million. Much of the money is invested with local financial institutions to ensure maximum benefit to our local economy.
