Toledo, Ohio – Lucas County Commissioner Tina Wozniak was today unanimously elected as President of the Board of Lucas County Commissioners for 2016. The President of the Board serves as the Chief Elected Official for county government, presides over weekly meetings and sets the tone and agenda for the Board and leads the Board on ongoing initiatives.
In her first comments after being elected to the position, President Wozniak said that Board of Commissioners remains full-time, dedicated and hardworking toward solutions for all Lucas County citizens. “We will continue achieving high goals and standards for 2016” stated Commissioner Wozniak.
Commissioner Wozniak also pledged constant progress on comprehensive criminal justice reform, additional investment in workforce training, and a sustained commitment to the vitality and safety of our drinking water in Lake Erie.
“During this year, the Board of Commissioners will continue to make progress on this agenda as well as deliver necessary county services while practicing prudent fiscal management,” said Wozniak. “As President, I’m ready to lead that charge.”
Commissioner Wozniak was nominated for President by Commissioner Gerken, who previously held the position from 2009 through 2013. The President’s term is one year.
