Statement on Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization

“Today, we sadly share the concern and disappointment of women in our country whose rights have been taken away by the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

Overturning Roe vs. Wade will undoubtedly continue to fuel the attack on the rights of women and all Americans’ right to privacy and bodily autonomy. As we speak, the Ohio Attorney General has filed an emergency motion in federal court to put the heartbeat law into effect immediately to restrict abortion access in our state.

Clearly, this decision is a deviation from past precedence and is contrary to the position held by a majority of Americans. Regardless of your beliefs on abortion, this is an attack on a woman’s right to privacy and an attempt to control their reproductive rights.

The high court has made its decision, but we are committed to looking for ways to support women locally who may need access to abortion services, especially those without financial resources to travel out-of-state.”
