How large is LCCS and how is it funded?

The current operating budget for Lucas County Children Services is approximately $48 million (2019). More than half of the agency's funding comes from the citizens of Lucas County through two property tax levies. Children Services also receives funding from the federal government, the State of Ohio, and other sources. Lucas County Children Services has approximately 350 employees.
