How to Request Public Records in Lucas County

    If you’re looking for public records, please reach out directly to the office where the records were created. The Lucas County Records Center; is not able to process public record requests from the general public. 

About the Lucas County Records Center

The Lucas County Records Center stores and manages both public and private records for multiple Lucas County Offices and departments. Operating under the Ohio Public Records Law and retention schedules defined by the Ohio Revised Code and the Lucas County Records Commission, the Records Center carefully stores and manages over 47,000 boxes and 26,000 rolls of microfilm for 38 county departments offices and agencies.

   Each week, the Records Center fulfills up to 20 record requests from county departments and annually schedules approximately 3,000 boxes for destruction in compliance with approved retention policies.
