Court Appointments

While this court appoints counsel in some limited circumstances, in most cases, counsel is appointed by the trial court to represent indigents on the appellate level. Therefore, you should also submit your name to the trial courts to be on their appointed appellate attorney lists.

If you wish to accept appointments from this Court to represent indigents in appeals, please complete the Court Appointed Counsel List Form from our Forms section on our website. This form also requires you to certify that you have reviewed Ohio Administrative Code 120-1-10, Appointment Systems and Attorney Qualifications. Please contact the court if you are unable to view the link to this rule, and arrangements will be made for it to be sent to you.

Attorneys whom have previously completed the Court Appointed Counsel List Form prior to June 1, 2016, are hereby required to submit a new form reflecting their review and compliance with the requirements of OAC 120-1-10 before appointed counsel fee applications will be approved by the Court.
