On 01/08/2026, the Lucas County Coroner’s Office performed an autopsy on 59-year-old Tammy Miller. Tammy Miller was found dead in a semitruck at Sam’s Travel Center on Matzinger Road in Toledo, Ohio, on 01/07/2026 at 10:55 a.m. The initial report and investigation involved concerns for possible injuries of unknown origin, as well as a question regarding delayed reporting of the death. The findings of the autopsy revealed a medical condition associated with changes that can mimic the appearance of traumatic injuries; these findings have since been determined not to represent inflicted injury. Further investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tammy Miller’s death is ongoing; however, at this time, no evidence of foul play has been identified. The cause and manner of death remain pending additional studies and completion of the investigation.

On 12/25/2025, the Lucas County Coroner’s Office was notified by the Lucas County Sheriff’s Office of a body discovered in Orchard Lake near Stone Oak Country Club. Springfield Fire retrieved the body from the water, and they were positively identified as Dr. Cletus Iwuagwu who was previously reported missing since 11/25/2025. We are in receipt of the body and an autopsy examination will be performed tomorrow (12/26/2025). The cause and manner of death are still under investigation. At this time, no foul play is suspected.

On December 1, 2025, the Lucas County Coroner’s Office was notified by the Toledo Police Department of the discovery of human remains in an unauthorized burial site at Woodlawn Cemetery on Central Avenue in Toledo, Ohio. Examination conducted over the following two days confirmed them to be the rest of the missing remains of 27-year-old Malicai D. Calder, whose previously recovered dismembered remains were examined by our office on November 26, 2025. The cause of death has been determined to be multiple sharp force injuries, and the manner of death remains as homicide. The circumstances, including the time and date of death, are still under active investigation.
